Income tax, immovable property, and the 2007 convention
The UK–Moldova convention was signed in London on 8 November 2007 and entered into force on 30 October 2008. It takes effect in Moldova from 1 January 2009. In the UK it takes effect from 6 April 2009 for income tax and capital gains tax, and from 1 April 2009 for corporation tax.

Article 2 names two Moldovan taxes: income tax, and the tax on immovable property. HMRC’s manual records a point that belongs only to this treaty history: until the 2007 convention took effect, the UK applied the old UK–Soviet agreement to Moldova, and Moldova did not regard itself as bound by that Soviet text. Use the 2007 convention, not the Soviet one.

The Serviciul Fiscal de Stat assesses Moldovan tax. A Companies House certificate does not file the income tax or the immovable-property tax.
A resident’s buletin de identitate accompanies the passport. Address proof is a recent electricity or water bill, or a bank statement, showing the name and an address in Moldova.
We copy the passport spelling. Follow-up can be in English and in Romanian.

Packages start at £450. The Companies House fee is £100 and is charged separately. Identity verification is £30 for each person who must verify. Formation packages include a London registered office. The certificate and company number usually arrive within 24–48 UK working hours after the file is complete and paid.
From the Founder package we can help prepare a WorldFirst application after the certificate. WorldFirst decides the account. We do not open a bank account and we do not get Stripe to accept the company.

Questions
Which Moldovan taxes does the convention name?
Income tax and the tax on immovable property.
Should I rely on the old UK–Soviet treaty?
No. HMRC records that Moldova did not regard that treaty as binding on it. The convention in force is the one signed in 2007.
Do you guarantee a bank account or Stripe?
No. The provider decides.
How do I start?
