Ten 1981 tax names, and the office that assesses tax now
The convention with the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was signed on 6 November 1981 and entered into force on 16 September 1982. It took effect in Yugoslavia from 1 January 1983. HMRC’s history note says that, for Serbia, this convention is regarded as having remained in force after Serbia and Montenegro became separate states in June 2006. GOV.UK also says the same 1981 text continues to apply to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it applied to Croatia only until 1 January 2016. This page is for a person living in Serbia. The identity card, the address proof and the tax office are Serbian.

Article 2 lists ten Yugoslav taxes, written for that system. They include the tax and contributions on income of organisations of associated labour, taxes on personal income from employment, agriculture and independent activities, the tax on income from copyrights and patents, the tax on income from capital, the tax on citizens’ total income, and three taxes on foreign persons. Those labels are in the 1981 text. The article also covers later taxes that are identical or substantially similar. The Poreska uprava assesses Serbian tax under the law in force now. A Companies House certificate does not file it, and it does not revive an organisation of associated labour.
A resident’s lična karta accompanies the passport. Address proof is a recent EPS electricity bill or a bank statement showing the name and an address in Serbia.
We copy the passport spelling. Follow-up can be in English and in Serbian.

Questions
Do I file the 1981 “associated labour” tax?
No. Those are the names printed in the convention. The Poreska uprava applies today’s Serbian law to taxes that are the same or substantially similar.
Does the same treaty page cover Montenegro?
HMRC regards the 1981 convention as still in force for Montenegro as well. A person living in Montenegro needs that country’s identity card and tax office, not this Serbian list of documents.
Do you guarantee a bank account or Stripe?
No. The provider decides.
How do I start?
