Frequently asked questions
What is an Apostille?
An Apostille is an official certificate issued by the UK FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office) that validates a UK document for use in 120+ countries that are part of the Hague Convention. For Arab countries, Saudi Arabia and Oman accept Apostille only for personal documents, while UAE, Egypt, Qatar, and others require Embassy attestation after the Apostille.

Do I need an Apostille or Embassy attestation?
If your document is British and the destination country is a Hague Convention member (Saudi Arabia, Oman), Apostille may be sufficient. For UAE, Egypt, Qatar, and most others, you need Embassy attestation after the Apostille. If your document is foreign, it goes directly through the embassy.
What UK documents can be legalised?
UK birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, academic/degree certificates, DBS checks, police clearance, company documents (Certificate of Incorporation, Board Resolutions), Powers of Attorney, and driving licences.
How long does the process take?
e-Apostille: 1–2 working days. Paper Apostille: 3–5 days. Express: 1 working day. Embassy attestation: 3–15 working days depending on the embassy (Saudi fastest at 3–6 days, Qatar/Iraq longest at 8–15 days).
Do I need to visit in person?
No. You can send your documents by post (Royal Mail tracked, £8), drop them at our London office (free), or use international return (DHL/FedEx, £25). We handle everything and return your legalised documents.
