Why a UK Ltd for Stripe?
In many countries such as Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Iraq, Stripe does not open accounts as easily for local individuals or companies. A UK Private Limited company lets you apply as a Stripe UK entity — provided the company is real, the activity is clear, and documents match.
The right order of steps
- Form the company via an ACSP and obtain the Certificate of Incorporation and CRN
- Provide a UK registered office address that matches Companies House
- Open a Wise Business account (or another accepted digital account) in the company name
- Prepare a website or store with product description and basic policies
- Apply to Stripe with data that matches the register exactly — without a VPN
What does Stripe review?
Director identity, company ownership, registered address, bank account, and the nature of the activity on the website. Name or address mismatches, an empty site, or a prohibited category are common reasons for holds. The company alone does not guarantee approval.
If the account is rejected or suspended
Read the document request in the Stripe dashboard, fix the website and policies, and reply within the deadline. Do not open multiple accounts to circumvent review. Also see the Stripe questions in our FAQ.
