Bookkeeping

UK Ltd package for Bookkeeping

The bookkeeper keeps ledgers, issues monthly reports, prepares a file for the client’s licensed accountant, and invoices a sterling fee from a UK company with a London registered office. The company does not issue a UK audit opinion, does not make you a chartered accountant in England and Wales, and does not promise a tax result.

UK Ltd formation for Bookkeeping — what to expect

A UK Private Limited Company (Ltd) is a separate legal entity registered at Companies House. Non-resident founders can form one remotely through structured identity verification support. Eteform handles the filing and checks in 24–48 working hours. Four service packages start from £450; add £30 identity verification and a separate £100 Companies House fee.

After incorporation you receive a CRN and digital documents. Many founders then open Wise Business or Revolut Business, set a London registered office if needed, and prepare for Stripe, Shopify or Amazon using matching company details. Annual duties typically include the Confirmation Statement (CS01), accounts, and Corporation Tax registration with HMRC when trading starts. Dormant companies still have lighter filing duties — they are not a full exemption from Companies House.

UK company formation does not grant UK residency or a visa. Eteform delivers legal, complete execution with a correctly filed, transparent entity and Arabic support from order to certificate, plus a clear file for bank or payment-gateway applications. Compare packages, read the formation guide, or start your order with clear pricing.

Why form a UK company for this activity?

  • A sterling bookkeeping invoice in the company name
  • A London registered office for one year, visible before the client pays
  • Three offers: monthly ledgers, a quarterly report, or a file prepared for a licensed accountant
  • A contract stating that you keep books and do not issue a UK audit certificate
  • International fees kept apart from a personal account
  • A director service address so the home address stays off the public register
  • A certificate and company number to introduce the office
  • Any financial account remains that institution’s decision

A good fit if…

  • You keep books or issue reports for clients in more than one country
  • The contract will say any statutory audit sits with a licensed accountant in the client’s country
  • Fees are printed on the invoice
  • You want a sterling invoice before you advertise

May not suit you if…

  • You want automatic ICAEW or ACCA status, or a UK chartered title
  • You will issue a UK audit certificate without the required registration
  • You will promise a tax result or a guaranteed refund
  • You expect a bank account the moment the company number is issued

What the office can invoice after formation

The company makes bookkeeping billable. A statutory audit stays with whoever is licensed to give it. These are bookkeeping examples, not audit opinions:

  • A trader in Dubai wants a monthly English report for a UK subsidiary: ledgers and a fee invoice, not an audit certificate
  • A London shopkeeper who speaks Arabic wants monthly books and a file prepared for their UK accountant
  • An Egyptian exporter needs a quarterly summary of collections and stock, at a published price
  • A digital agency refers clients for bookkeeping on a clear monthly invoice
  • Preparing VAT papers for review with a licensed VAT accountant, without filing in their name unless you are entitled to
  • An annual package for a small office: twelve monthly reports and a remote quarterly meeting

What you sell, and what stays with a licensed accountant

The product is the office’s time: ledgers, reports, and a prepared file. A UK audit opinion, a formal tax filing that needs local registration, and UK professional-body membership sit outside this package unless you already hold them.

The professional limit

Companies House registration is commercial. It does not make you a chartered accountant in England and Wales, give ICAEW or ACCA membership, or authorise a UK audit certificate. If your home country requires a local licence for bookkeeping, the UK company does not replace it. We review the name so it does not imply a statutory auditor; words such as Auditor or Chartered Accountant are often refused or delayed without proof of status.

The London address

The registered office is for mail, invoices and the public register. The director service address keeps the home address private. Neither address is an office that receives tax papers on behalf of HMRC.

The first week after the company number

  • Put the number and address on the fee invoice, with a fixed line: bookkeeping, not a UK audit certificate
  • Price three published offers, with no promised tax result
  • Agree Corporation Tax for your own company with an accountant; your clients’ tax is separate
  • Note the first Confirmation Statement. Filing is through an ACSP agent; see What ACSP means

FAQ — Accounting & bookkeeping

Who is this package for?

For a bookkeeper or office that wants to invoice international clients from a UK company. It does not grant UK chartered status.

Do I become a chartered accountant in England?

No. Companies House registration does not give ICAEW or ACCA membership or a UK audit certificate.

What exactly do I sell?

Ledgers, monthly or quarterly reports, and a file prepared for a licensed accountant in the client’s country. Not a UK audit certificate from this package alone.

Can I promise a tax refund?

No. No guaranteed tax result and no guaranteed refund. The report shows figures; the tax authority and any licensed accountant decide the rest.

Is the London address a tax office?

No. It is a registered office for mail and invoices, plus a director service address. It does not receive papers on behalf of HMRC.

What does £1100 cover, and how long does it take?

The Eteform fee is £1100 for formation, the London registered office for one year, and the director service address for one year. The Companies House fee of £100 is separate. After a complete file, filing is typically inside 24–48 UK business hours. That is a description, not a promised date.

Do I need to travel?

Formation is remote. More than one bookkeeper can be a director or shareholder. Each person needs a passport and proof of address.

What about tax on my own company?

Profits of the UK company can fall within Corporation Tax, and annual accounts are required. Tax where you live is separate. Ask an accountant; this is orientation, not tax advice.

Can the company be called Auditor?

Usually not if you are not registered to audit. A name that implies that status is often refused or delayed. We review the options.

Does a bank account open with the company?

No. The number, certificate and address are documents in the file. Acceptance is the institution’s decision. We do not promise an account or a card checkout.

Can I file VAT for a UK client?

Only if your professional status allows it where the return is filed. Many offices prepare the file and a licensed VAT accountant submits it. Say so in the contract.

How do I order?

Start from this page and mention accounting and bookkeeping, so the description is matched to ledgers and not to a UK statutory audit.
